Spring Scratch Competition 2023

Students from all over the country have been fine tuning their Turntablism performance and freestyle skills for our Spring Scratch Competition.

Held online over the penultimate week of term and judged by Jon1st (Leicester-based World Scratch Champion), the competition saw entries from Primary Schools from all over Leicester and Leicestershire and beyond!

Entrants needed to submit:

• A performance from written scratch notation showing attention to musical detail and rhythmical accuracy
• A freestyle performance showing off their scratch techniques and musical flair

All students that entered showed secure technique and exciting promise as turntablists. We are pleased to share with you the runners up and winning entry in the video below. We hope you enjoy them!
