Leicestershire Music - Secondary Scratch Competition - Spring '24

Students from all over the country have been fine tuning their Turntablism performance and freestyle skills for our Spring Scratch Competition.

Held online over the penultimate week of term and judged by an expert panel, the competition saw entries from Secondary Schools from all over Leicester and Leicestershire and beyond!

Entrants needed to submit:

• A performance from written scratch notation showing attention to musical detail and rhythmical accuracy
• A freestyle performance showing off their scratch techniques and musical flair

All students that entered showed secure technique and exciting promise as turntablists. We are pleased to share with you the runners up and winning entry in the video below. We hope you enjoy them!
