Drumbot - FREE Resource with Key Stage 3 Lesson Plan
Drumbot offers a range of free browser based music making tools.
Please find a fully planned lesson for the Drumbot program, Sequence available to download below.
Sequence is free and browser based (which means no install is required on computers – however flash player will need to be installed and enabled). Sequence allows for users to create bars of drums and percussion by composing on a midi style notation grid. The lesson comes fully planned with a PowerPoint Presentation which contains embedded videos that exemplify and support the learning outcome. Printable handouts also come as part of the lesson as well as a written lesson plan. As well as explaining the main steps of the lesson, the lesson plan also contains other ideas which can be used to help create an entire unit of work based around this one piece of free software.
(These are the same resource files but have been zipped using different methods. We are aware that not all users might have access to 7z, so have included both options here).
NB - These are large resource files and are hosted externally on Dropbox. We are aware that some school internet providers are not set to allow access to Dropbox links. If this is the case, please contact your provider who should be able to arrange your access. An alternative is to download the file/s on the given link/s using a different internet connection.
Once downloaded, extract ALL of the files to a folder of your choice. You will receive the lesson PowerPoint (with embedded video files), printable resources and written lesson plan. On the first page of the planning are other ideas for main activities using Drumbot.
