"Julia began her musical journey in Year 4 through Whole Class Ensemble Teaching at Hazel Primary School. Recognised for her talent, she joined the Award for Young Musicians programme and progressed through trumpet grades, achieving Grade 5 with distinction. Now in Year 11, she plays in Concert Band and Big Band, performing at major venues like De Montfort Hall. Studying music for GCSE, she has excelled in both performance and composition. Reflecting on her journey, Julia shared that "playing with fellow trumpet players and players of other instruments has changed the way I play and has motivated me to continue practicing and learning new skills."
