We've partnered with Cosmopolitan Arts and NYJO to give disadvantaged young people free, world-class jazz and improvisation experiences—tuition, ensembles, composition, and summer schools led by top musicians. They've performed at major festivals and venues, building skills, confidence, and aspirations. In 2023, Cosmopolitan became an NPO and secured £142,000 to create Leicester's first permanent youth music hub—a safe, creative space for collaboration. We've also equipped it with instruments and tech through the Capital Music Grant.
We've partnered with Leicester City Council to make the Haymarket Theatre the new home of Leicestershire Music Bands, Orchestras and Groups. With Leicestershire Music having a rich history of working with the Haymarket as a rehearsal and performance venue, we're delighted to be able to continue working together.
