LSMS Update July 2020
Following the DfE guidance for the full opening of schools released earlier this week, we wanted to let you know that we are looking at this in more detail and working through what this means to us, schools and students as part of our ongoing recovery planning.
As soon as we have more information about what this means we will advise schools in the regular updates we will be sending from this point onwards.
The DfE guidance for the full opening of schools in September can be found here.
Please also see the current Music Mark Guidance for Schools, which we are working with until updated guidance is available.

Coronavirus and LSMS
At Leicester-Shire Schools Music Service, the health and well-being of our audiences, musicians, participants and staff is of the highest priority.
This is a fast-changing and difficult situation for us all, and we aim to support musicians, staff, parents and our audiences as best as we can. We'd like to thank everybody for their understanding and patience so far.
We have solutions to ensure that progression is not disrupted and are busy working on resources that will be sent to schools / accessed online. If you are a school concerned about how you can deliver music education next year, why not visit our Musical Solutions page and find out how we can help.
Please click on LSMS Student Learning where we are continuing to upload new resources every day. You can also find resources on our Youtube channel, split into playlists for different instruments and activities. Lastly, you might want to explore our performance archive.
All of our rehearsals, performances, events and training have been cancelled until further notice. This also applies to Instrument Hire. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and look forward resuming these as soon as we're able.
We will continue to monitor the situation carefully following guidelines from Leicestershire County Council, Public Health England and the Department for Education.
