Support / Information for Schools Network Meetings

Music Network Meetings
Building a network of professionals leading music within schools is such a valuable activity. The more you learn from other people the more likely you are to succeed in what you are doing. By chatting to a peer about your experiences – for example, singing assemblies - and why, can lead to you both learning something from that conversation.

Not only will you be connecting with teachers who can help and support you, your experience, knowledge, and skills are just as valuable to other people as theirs are to you — no matter what level and experience you are currently at.

Leicestershire Music supports Music teacher networking in a variety of ways

Type A – FREE
For all teachers

Attend a Leicestershire Music network meeting.

These are led and chaired by a member of staff at Leicestershire Music, with the agenda co-created with the teachers that attend.

There are 2 options to choose from; face to face and online. They both have the same discussion agenda items and the face to face network includes the addition of a free CPD focus that is often practical.

Type B – FREE
For a group of schools in a MAT or a Development Group / Collaborative

The group of schools will co-opt a Lead for the music network

Up to one hour of free consultation support in setting up the music network

The School Lead for the network will:

  • Find an agreed venue to host the network
  • Send out invites to the meeting
  • Create the agenda
  • Lead the meetings
  • Carry out follow-up communications and information sharing

A member of staff from Leicestershire Music will then attend your network. They will be an active member of the discussions and, as part of the agenda, will share national and regional updates with regards to music education.

Type C - £150 per hour
