School Instrument Hire

Along with our individual instrument hire, we also hire instruments or class sets of instruments to schools.

Changes to our Pricing Structure from Sep 2024

We have contacted all schools over the summer break to advise of changes to our pricing structure.

Why have we increased our prices?
We have held off on price rises on our instrument hire for a number of years but unfortunately rising salary, storage and petrol costs means that we are no longer able to subsidise instrument hire at the same rates as previously. We have still done our very best to keep the prices as low as possible.

What does this mean for current schools?
Schools that do not wish to pay these increased fees are welcome to request return their instruments before 30th September without incurring any additional charges. Schools who wish to hire the instruments in their care for another year will automatically be moved onto the new prices.

What does this mean for new schools?
New schools arranging instrument hire to start in Autumn 2024 will be set up on the new price structure as shown here (for LA Maintained Schools / Academies) and here (for Independent Schools).

What if I want instruments for a one-off project/workshop?
If there is a particular project/workshop that you wish to put on and you require instruments for shorter than a term please contact us on music@leics.gov.uk and discuss this with us.
