PANJAM! Massed Steel Pan Event

Venue: Crown Hills Community College, Gwendolen Road, Leicester LE5 5FT

A celebration of Steel Pan music featuring groups from in and around Leicester, including the Leicester-Shire Schools Music Service Junior and Senior Steel Pan Ensembles. The running order of performances is as follows,

The event will begin at 2.00pm and is anticipated to finish at 5.30pm.

  • Caribbean Food, Samosas and ice creams will be on sale or you may want to bring a packed lunch – whatever you feel is best
  • As the performances will be outside, please bring a chair / rug to sit on as there is a raised grassy bank to sit on and watch. although if we do need to hold the performances inside, there will be some seating facilities.
  • Parents should park using the Gwendolen Road car parks first ( there are 2) and in case of overspill, they will be directed to the Ethel Road Entrance.
  • All groups performing should decide what dress code their students should adopt. Performers and audience members may want to bring sun block / hats and plenty of drinks if it is a really warm day
  • All supporters (parents/Carers/Family and Friends) – will need to pay at the gate - £2.00 for adults and £1.00 for children
  • There will free programmes available with maps of where each group are performing which will contain the wet weather contingency plan - although the forecast looks like being very warm.
