Leics Celebrate Schools Music!

Presented by CBeebies’
YolanDa Brown

We need your School! - Your school can feature in our first ever schools film for primary and SEND children in Leicester & Leicestershire. Live on YouTube!

Presented by YolanDa Brown, the theme for this event is "A musical journey around the world" and we will be exploring music from different continents, played by children in Leicester-Shire.

If your school would like to record a performance based on a specific country then this would be wonderful. The deadline to participate is Thursday 11th February. The event will go live on YouTube on Tuesday 23rd March at 1:30pm.

If you have any queries regarding this project, please contact sarah.sharman@leics.gov.uk

How can our school be involved?

This could be a group performance that has taken place in school or a matrix style video that has been put together with children recording their parts separately. If you're interested in accessing our free matrix video resources, please click here

Performances should be uploaded to the link below by Thursday 11th February at 1:00pm.

How can our school watch?

Leics Celebrate Schools Music! will be live on our Youtube channel at the end of the Spring Term - date TBC shortly. We would love schools to watch live and for classroom teachers to comment on the live feed with positive comments from their class.

After the live launch, this film will be available on our YouTube channel for schools enjoy at a later date, or share with friends and family.

During the programme, we will be teaching a body percussion piece for children to learn in their classrooms. At the end of the programme, we invite classroom teachers to upload their class video performing the piece. These will be made into a Leics Celebrate video which will be launched after the Easter Break.
