Musical Playfulness for Pupils with PMLD

Musical Playfulness for Pupils with PMLD

Date: Wed, 24th Apr 2024, 16:00 - 17:30

Venue: Online

As part of Music Mark's New Directions in Inclusive Music series in partnership with MEHEM Uprising, This webinar introduces practitioners to the Musical Play Framework and using it with pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities.

Making music with pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities is a specialist skill, requiring practitioners to radically rethink their approaches to communication, lesson design and evaluation.

This webinar introduces practitioners to the Musical Play Framework: a new, evidence-based approach to teacher/pupil interaction that offers meaningful musical opportunities for pupils with PMLD. Rosie Rushton will introduce the framework, sharing practical activities as well as research evidence that demonstrates its impact.

The Framework has had a significant impact in special education schools in the East Midlands and we are excited to share it with colleagues across the country. The webinar is suitable for practitioners who work with or want to work with pupils with PMLD, and all those developing provision for this cohort.
