Expression of Interest Call Out
Are you a young musician, artist, producer, or band member looking to take the next step in your music career?
This is your chance to join Leics Connect, an exciting programme for 14-18 year olds delivered by Leicester Music Board and funded by Youth Music and Sound Connections, designed to help you grow, learn, and connect with industry professionals as well as having your voice heard about what support and advice you need along the way.
Leics Connect is a seven-month music development programme for young people who want to progress in music or the creative industries. You will take part in group sessions and one-to-one mentoring with music professionals, develop skills in areas such as songwriting, music production, live performance and live sound. The programme includes rehearsal and studio time, visits to industry events, opportunities to perform and support live shows, and a final performance at the Leicester Riverside Festival. Alongside building creative skills, you will gain confidence, make new connections, and learn how the music industry works and how to take your next steps.
What's on offer?
If selected, you'll get access to:
- Bi-weekly sessions with music industry professionals
- Studio rehearsal time
- One-to-one mentoring/music tuition
- Performance opportunity at the Riverside Festival, Leicester
- Entry to the *Leicester Music Board Young Person Music Industry Careers Conference
- Opportunities to perform at and help run open mic nights across the year
Sessions start 12th February 2026 and run every 2 weeks until July 2026
Who are we looking for?
Young people aged 14-18 who:
- Are passionate about music and want a career in the industry
- Have already started their journey (tell us what you've done so far!)
- Show commitment, motivation, and ambition
- Have unique qualities and ideas
- Can imagine where they'd like to be in 10 years' time

This can be a written piece (no more than 2 sides of A4) or an audio/video file (max 5 mins in length) – however you feel you can express yourself best!
