The National Plan for Music (NPME) was launched last year; The Power of Music to change Lives. Mark Phillips - HMI for Music up until September 2022 - will delve into this new plan and help us understand what it means for your setting.
Within the National Plan three distinct but interlinked areas of provision are highlighted; curriculum music, instrumental and vocal lessons and Musical events and Opportunities. When these are in place we offer a high-quality music education for our young people.
Along with this there is an expectation that schools should have a Music Development Plan that brings these areas into focus. Mark will unpick what a meaningful development plan for music could look like in a Primary School.
