LSMS Welcome New Staff to New Posts!

We are delighted to welcome new staff in the following new posts to our school support and teaching teams and we are looking forward to developing new ways to work with Students, Schools and Partners.
Team Leader: Schools Advice and Inclusion - Becky Bell
Becky completed her music degree specialising in violin and piano at Trinity College of Music, London and her PGCE in Music through the Open University. She has taught music at a number of primary and secondary schools in Leicester and has developed departments and creative projects as part of her numerous roles. These include Head of Music and Creative Arts and Head of Performing Arts and Assistant Principal for Curriculum in secondary schools. She has spent the last 5 years teaching and coordinating music at Alderman Richard Hallam Primary School.
Becky plays the violin in the Bardi Symphony Orchestra, and occasionally for musicals at various theatres. She also plays the piano and some ukulele. She is very excited to be taking on this new role and is looking forward to working with and supporting the development of music in schools across Leicester and Leicestershire.
Team Leader: Music Technology, Contemporary and Urban music - Tim Clay
Tim has taught Music in various schools in Leicestershire, Warwickshire and Birmingham. Most recently as Head of Performing Arts in a Leicestershire High School for the past 8 years (and taught in Nuneaton and Birmingham prior to this). Tim has previously engaged with the hub as a Lead Technology Teacher for Secondary Schools, ran the Turntablism unit for 2 years and also hosted the Ukulele Rocks after school sessions. Tim is really looking forward to working with each member of the Hub on future projects and can't wait to get started.
Music Leader: Technology, Contemporary and Urban music - Akshay (Shay) Sharma
Shay specialises in urban music and music technology. He entered his music career as a playground rapper and wordsmith, inspired by the rise of UK Grime culture, Hip Hop and R&B. Shay began to learn the art of Beatboxing as a teenager and began to explore fusing words and beats together using loop stations, FX pads and production software. He has worked as a community practitioner for 10 years and performs at festivals and gigs across the UK.
