BBC Young Composer Competition 2020

Calling all young singer-songwriters, eclectic electric composers, genre-spanning songsmiths, and creative melody-makers…

The nationwide BBC Young Composer competition 2020 is now open!

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Your students may not think of themselves as composers, but if they love to create their own original music, and are bursting with creativity, originality, and potential, then we're here to tell them they are. So please encourage them to enter the BBC Young Composer competition 2020.
Closing date: Thursday 11 June at 5pm.

Open to all students aged 12-18 who work across any genre, any instrument, and any method, including those who use different means of notation.

WHY ENTER BBC YOUNG COMPOSER?
Winners will participate in a tailored development programme working with a mentor composer on a project with the BBC Concert Orchestra which will be performed and broadcast in a special young composers concert at the BBC Proms in 2021. All entrants will also be offered priority booking to our Proms Weekender; an event for young musicians during the 2020 Proms season.
