BBC Ten Pieces is back with another set of 10 classical pieces for students to explore and get creative with over the 2017/18 academic year! Our new list of pieces for schools to work with includes a mix of iconic classical pieces and music from some brilliantly inspiring contemporary composers!
We've just released FREE resources for the first three pieces for you to start exploring. For each piece you will find:
- Introductory video clips
- 6-weeks' worth of lesson plans
- Mp3s and films of the full orchestral performance
- Downloadable instrumental and vocal arrangements
Head to the website now to get your hands on free resources for our first three pieces: Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker, Dvořák's Symphony No. 9, 'From the New World' and a brand new piece for a cappella voices especially commissioned and written for the project by Kerry Andrew called No Place Like.
We will be releasing resources for the other seven pieces throughout September. Alongside these fantastic resources, there will also be other events coming up throughout the year including Schools' Concerts, a special Tchaikovsky BBC Live Lesson on the 13th November and ways in which to upload creative responses to be featured on the BBC Ten Pieces website.
We look forward to another fabulous year of getting creative with classical music!
Many thanks,
The Ten Pieces Team
