Music Service Founder Eric Pinkett to receive a Blue Plaque!

Posted: Thu, 18 May 2017 15:10

We're delighted to that the recent nomination of our founder Eric Pinkett for a Blue Plaque for BBC National Music Day 2017 has been successful! Eric has been awarded a plaque in recognition of his work inspiring and facilitating the music making of the young people of Leicester & Leicestershire. The plaque will be situated at Church Langton School, the venue for the first ever performance of the County Music School.

The unveiling ceremony will take place at 10.30am onThursday 15th June and we'd like as many ex-students as possible, particularly those who passed through the service during Eric's years, to be present.

The unveiling will be followed by a short performance by students from Church Langton Primary School and then tea / coffee in the Langton Community Hall, next door. Visitors attending the ceremony will be able to park in the Langton Community Hall Car Park
