Interested in learning the Bassoon?

LSMS is looking for young people who would be interested in learning to play the bassoon, and is committed to making this affordable. We would like to hear from potential beginner instrumentalists with an interest in music, or students who already play an instrument and would be interested in either transferring to it or taking it as a second instrument.

The Bassoon is the lowest member of the woodwind family, and is classed as an "endangered species" instrument because nationally not enough people are taking it up. The basic fingering is the same as the Treble Recorder. Find our more by watching our short film about the Bassoon on our Media page and get touch if you are interested.
