Were you part of the City of Leicester Schools Concert Band in the 1970s?
Ex Concert Band member Colin Baker has provided this photo of very Seventies-looking smiley Leicester students.
"I took this photo, probably in 1972, at what was then Collegiate Girls' School off London Road, where the concert band rehearsed," writes Mr Baker, who now lives in Bournemouth, Dorset.
"Some 45 years ago, around 50 musicians from local schools came together on Saturday mornings to rehearse for a series of
concerts under two conductors, Mr J C O'Reilly and Mr R G Baker, who between them, encouraged over 200 young musicians totogether throughout the decade.
"The concert band regularly played at De Montfort Hall, numerous garden fetes and other venues around the county. In 1985, over 50 ex-members of the band attended the first reunion and after 30 years a second is now planned for later this year. Getting in touch with ex-players after 45 years is not easy, but it's hoped that Mr Leicester readers may know the whereabouts of some of the young musicians pictured in the photograph."
