- Ever wanted to learn about music journalism, or how to write a good music review?
- Ever wondered how people get to be music journalists, interview bands they adore and get into the hottest events?
Well, now you can find out!
Rockhaq.com is the UK's only teen music journalism community, and after a great pilot several years ago, we have re-opened and are accepting new members! Oh - did we mention it's FREE?
And why would you want to join the Rockhaq community? It's a great place to express your opinions about music with other music-fans, all over the UK. You share your reviews and opinions on music to win virtual points and badges on the site. Our community is safe but exciting, as your work could also win you Rockhaq Missions (music rewards) to undertake! In the past we've given our best writers tickets to sold-out concerts, interview opportunities with their favourite bands and more. The best writers and community members stand a good chance of winning awesome Rockhaq Missions and prizes, so the sooner you join and get writing, the better. If we see you're exceptional, Team Rockhaq will get in touch to ask what Rockhaq Mission you want to complete, and arrange it all. We're nice like that.
For music hub leaders and teachers:
The Rockhaq community is an incredible place where students become inspired and engaged to write, purely because they want to. Don't believe us? Then check our case studies, student video interviews and testimonials to see the rather outstanding results we've achieved in the past. You might be surprised ;-)
Rockhaq engages students to write reviews, both in class and in their own time. 73% of our pilot students wrote at weekends, in the evenings, in the sunshine and over holidays. They loved it so much they wanted to keep blogging after college. Rockhaq also fits into teaching curriculums for Music, Media and English. Just get in touch to find out how – we even have teaching resources coming soon. Yes, Team Rockhaq also offer Human Services like journalism and music review workshops for kids, and music/literacy CPD workshops for teachers. Availability is very limited, so contact us quickly if you're interested in these unique sessions.
In the meantime, Team Rockhaq are looking forward to reading your work and seeing how our music journalism community grows. You can apply to join here. Go forth haqs, and claim your bounty!
