Choirmaster and Pianist needed for the Rhythm of Life Choir, Leicester

Formed in Autumn 2010, 'Rhythm of Life' is Coping with Cancer's Community Choir. One of the latest additions to our wide range of services and groups aimed at supporting cancer patients, their families and carers in Leicestershire and Rutland, the idea behind the formation of the choir was to gather people together from all walks of life and singing abilities, to sing together and have some fun.
The choir is in many ways a stress-busting, vocal workout, but also the opportunity to fill free leisure time, raise the awareness of our charity and to serve as a meaningful outlet for emotions. Singing songs from Mozart to Abba, gospel to swing, musicals to modern works, soon a regular group of 25 – 30+ members started coming together on Tuesday evenings at Helen Webb House, 35 Westleigh Road, Leicester, LE3 0HH (just off Fosse Road South). The choir's first public performance was at Leicester Cathedral as part of the St Patricks Day Celebrations on Saturday 12th March 2011.
Both leader and pianist have recently left for pastures new and the choir are looking for someone new to lead them. These positions would be on a voluntary basis but would provide a great learning opportunity for a willing volunteer. The Choir meet on Tuesday evenings from 7:00pm - 8:15pm at Helen Webb House. 'Rhythm of Life' is open to all. If you fancy joining our all-embracing, non-auditioning choir for a fun, stress-busting vocal workout, please join us.
