LSSO win Award at the Music For Youth Festival!

We are delighted to announce that the Leicester-Shire Schools Symphony Orchestra (LSSO) received the Certificate of Achievement Award for Performance Practice in the Orchestral Category (Music Centres and Open) at the Music for Youth National Festival 2014 in Birmingham recently.

This is a highly prestigious event that took place at Symphony Hall and the LSSO performed Checkmate Suite by Sir Arthur Bliss under the baton of Peter Dunkley. Feedback from the adjudicator/ presenter included 'immensely impressive', 'brilliantly filled this hall ', 'you were greater than the sum of your parts ', demonstrated 'drive and commitment'.

This was a wonderful occasion and a perfect ending to a performance packed summer term and an extremely busy but successful year for the Leicester-Shire Music Education Hub.
