During the week of 30th November, the Music Tech Team at Leicester-Shire Schools Music Service offered free browser-based music lessons for KS2 and KS3 classes.

This was a one-hour fun, informative and interactive session where all participating students were able to create their own song during the session. The sessions were held at 10:00am and 2:00pm on Tuesday 1st December and Thursday 3rd December with separate KS2 and KS3 sessions on these days / times.

Why take part?

This is a great opportunity for your school and your students to find out more about music tech. It's a browser-based session meaning that it is free for everyone to participate and students can go home and explore on their own as well. Students can send examples of their work to the music tech team as part of a competition - open to all schools who take part!

What do we need to participate?

Classes taking part will need access to a computer (ideally one each) and access to the internet – so if your school has an ICT room or a class-set of laptops, this would be perfect. We have specifically chosen software that requires no logging in or signing up to allow for a smooth and uninterrupted start.

How do we take part on the day?

You will be sent a ticket for the session by Eventbrite which will enable you to access the zoom / teams link into the session. This is likely to be sent through in the days leading up to the event.

The ideal web browser for this session is google chrome so please make sure you have this on your laptops / computers prior to the session starting.

Frequently asked questions:

We have a set of ipads, can we use these?

Unfortunately not for this session but please contact us as we can provide music tech classes for ipad!

We're not available at these times, can we still take part?

There will be opportunity to participate at other times in the new year, please register your interest and we will be in touch.
