Making Singing fun - Suitable for Key Stage 1
During this workshop Gillian will demonstrate:
- how to use singing as a foundation for delivering fun, quality music sessions in line with the new music curriculum.
- how to learn enjoyable and structured ways to teach musical concepts and vocal skills using a range of warm ups, focus activities and songs to get your class singing
- good practise for all singing activities and improve your vocal leadership skills
- how to enable children to sing well, and develop musical understanding, through active engagement in music
Gillian Ramshaw trained at the RSAMD before working as a Vocal Specialist for LSMS following a move to Leicester from the North east. Gillian's passion to use singing as a vehicle to build confidence and to engage and inspire, has led her to leading many vocal workshops for teachers and children alike. She enjoys working predominantly with children in the Primary setting and conducts massed choirs on a regular basis at De Montfort Hall. Gillian has also worked with Bullfrog Arts to develop resources for Looked After Children and leads their 'Fostering Voices' choir for carers in the city, as well as a Junior Voices choir in the city. She also works as an Area Music Leader for City Schools.
