Music Teaching for the Terrified is a chance to get right back to basics, to learn some key strategies to boost your confidence with teaching music in a supportive atmosphere. No question too basic!
Morning Session
We begin by unpicking the language of music, leading you through this in a practical, fun way that utilises a lot of the common classroom instruments that schools have. We also spend some time on notation, starting out with graphic notation (pictures / symbols) and linking this to the next step of using standard notation.
Afternoon Session
We spend time on learning some logistical strategies for dealing with whole class instrumental work, giving you the confidence to manage this effectively and allow your children important opportunities to improvise and compose. Lots of practical ideas for how to support them in doing this that don't need you to be a music specialist!
Suitable for ECTs, TAs, Teachers - those who are inexperienced in teaching music or lacking in confidence.
Price - £100 per place or £150 for two delegates from the same school.
