FREE Music Careers Event for Young People
Perfect Score brings together in partnership – The Leicester-Shire Music Education Hub (LMEH), Curve Theatre and Leicester based Arts Charity, Pedestrian. The project utilises the combined 100 years of experience of these 3 organisations to raise awareness of careers in music, develop talent in a range of styles and genres, and to promote progression into varied music careers including participatory delivery. Press Start and Level Up your music career at this exciting music industry conference, designed especially for young people. Find out about careers and the broad range of roles available in the music industry, meet music industry professionals and take part in performances and music workshops.

When & Where?
March 8th 2019 – Curve Theatre, Leicester 9am to 1pm & 1.30pm to 5.30pm

Who is it for?
For young people, aged 13 to 25, who are interested in pursuing a career in music. The event will see panellists and specialists from across the music industry sharing their expertise and providing information on how to develop a career in the music industry.

Organisations taking part include:
PRS for Music, Leicester-Shire Music Education Hub, HQ Recording Studios & HQ Familia Record Label, Joint Audio Media Education Society, Echo Factory, Clarence Street Recording Studios, Rockhaq and many more!

Conference Highlights:

  • Keynote speech from Matt Griffiths, CEO of Youth Music, seminars, panel discussions and careers information sessions.
  • Music workshops: Beat-boxing, looping and lyrics - workshops from Mr Shay & Naji Wavy.
  • Performances: From hip to hop to fusion, live performances and music video showcases, featuring upcoming stars of Leicester's music scene.
  • Young peoples networking: Explore the industry and meet music industry specialists, organisations and education providers.
  • Panel discussion: Answering your questions on working in the music industry featuring Yasin El Ashrafi of HQ Familia Record Label, Princes Trust Mentor of the Year 2018.

Step 1. Choose which session you would like to attend - morning or afternoon
Step 2. Let us know how many young people you will be bringing – Due to high demand places are limited to 15 maximum per school
Step 3.
