Becoming an Effective Music Coordinator Session 5 – Singing and Vocal Work

Becoming an Effective Music Coordinator Session 5 – Singing and Vocal Work

Date: Thu, 17th Jun 2021, 16:00 - 17:00

Venue: by Zoom

Price: £30.00 Per Attendee

In this session we will discuss and explore the opportunities singing and vocalising gives children. It is well-known that children vocalise sounds and start singing before they can read and write, and we will discuss the importance of all children being given the opportunity to develop these sounds and skills.

We will explore singing as its own entity, as well as a crucial tool for musical learning e.g. pitch recognition and playing in tune and how your school can implement its own singing strategy and become a 'singing school'.

NB: Music co-ordinators new to the role will receive ongoing support throughout their first year of CPD.

This is suitable for EYFS/KS1/KS2 - Music coordinators and lead music teachers in Primary, SEND and PRU settings.

The Becoming and Effective Music Coordinator course is made up of the following 5 sessions:

1 – Using musical instruments in the classroom (28/01/21)

2 – Composing, improvising and doodling (11/03/21)

3 – Using technology in primary music education (29/04/21)

4 – Music across the creative curriculum (13/05/21)

5 – Singing and vocal work (17/06/21)

Sign up to all next 5 sessions at a cost of £100 which includes a baseline Quality Mark meeting and a Quality Mark review, plus a certification of completion.

Delegates who wish to only sign up for individual sessions can do so at a cost of £30 per session (please note if all 5 are booked you will only be charged £100 otherwise you will be charged £30 for each session)
