Training / Continued Professional Development (CPD)

We were really proud of the breadth and quality of the courses on offer last year and evaluation showed us that you thought it was great too. We are confident that we have come back this year with an even stronger array of CPD to inspire, resource, guide and advise you in your careers as music educators. We have added courses that teachers told us they needed, teamed up with experts to offer specialist SEND CPD, doubled the singing CPD on offer and included many more FREE networking and twilight training sessions to improve accessibility and put you in touch with your colleagues across the City and County.

We hope you will agree that prices remain competitive and that we continue to bring the very best expertise into Leicestershire to share their knowledge with you.

All bookings can now be completed online and if you are a NQT or NQT+1 please look out for the courses where supply cover costs are included with your booking. Finally, if your school is part of a multi academy trust, please contact us for offers on multi-buy CPD packages that offer excellent savings and quality training for more members of your team.

Any questions or suggestions? We would love to hear from you.

A guide to curriculum, pedagogy and assessment - course review

Some of us were recently privileged to attend a training session on "A guide to curriculum, pedagogy and assessment" led by Dr Alison Daubney, as part of Leicester-Shire Schools Music Service CPD package. There was time for reflection on our current practice, practical sessions on how we can create a curriculum that has clear progression routes and discussion on the expected outcomes for pupils in EYFS up to Year 6.

A real thought provoking day with lots of exciting new ideas to try in the classroom – including musical appreciation with a balloon.

Please find a copy of the presentation used in the training below.
