New GCSE: One year on - Led by Anthony Anderson

Course Objectives
Following the course, attendees will have their knowledge of new GCSE specifications refreshed and key essentials highlighted. Delegates will have the opportunity to quiz chief examiners with questions that need answers in their local context, enabling them to deliver a high quality GCSE Music learning experience. All teachers attending will return to their schools fully equipped to successfully deliver the final year of the new GCSE specifications in an outstanding manner.

Course Description
Time to take stock and receive fresh input from Edexcel, OCR, AQA and Eduqas examiners at the half-way milestone. What are the vital things to know for delivering the new GCSE specifications in year 11? How can you manage terminal assessment and what are the key things you need to make sure you don't miss? The day will provide full updates and a compelte resource pack and will also focus on the sharing of best practice and ideas to manage the GCSE course in case studies from school practitioners. Course Leader: Anthony Anderson
Anthony Anderson is a music curriculum consultant and a post-graduate researcher at Birmingham City University. He began his PhD whilst a full time school music teacher. Anthony is also an accredited Advanced Skills Teacher, coach and Outstanding Facilitator with the UK National College for Teaching and Leadership. He is an experienced initial teacher educator and a member of the Editorial Board for the British Journal of Music Education. Anthony is a former chair of the Expert Subject Advisory Group for Music, which advised the Department for Education during the 2013 revision of the National Curriculum.
