Course description
This course will look at a range of activities and ideas to move your choir to the next stage. Areas to be looked at will include
- Making the most of your rehearsal time
- Improving the tone of your singers,
- Repertoire that challenges
- Tips for teaching tricky bits.
Course Leader: Nicola Atkins
Nicola Atkins trained at the Guildhall School of Music and the Royal Welsh College of Music before moving to London and working as a session singer on several film and TV sound tracks, singing as a soloist and in professional choirs. She went on to train as a primary school teacher and then to specialise as a singing leader, conducting youth and children's choirs. She was the Singing Strategy Co-ordinator for Warwickshire Music Hub prior to becoming the Singing Development Leader for Leicestershire in 2015. She continues to sing regularly with the Armonico Consort and other chamber choirs as well as running a community choir in the village she lives in.
